Can I waive late fees with ASIC?

Can I waive late fees with ASIC?

Unfortunately, ASIC is very strict with their payment deadlines and will rarely waive late fees, except in very specific circumstances.  They will usually only consider waiving a fee where there are genuine issues preventing on time payment, such as…

  • Delays caused by issues with ASIC;
  • court caused delays;
  • records have been damaged by fire, floor or other natural disaster; or
  • a natural disaster prevented you from accessing records in your home or business.

They will not waive fees where there was a failure to lodge on time, where you did not receive your annual statement or you didn’t have funds to pay.

You can apply for a fee waiver if you believe you meet the criteria.  This can be completed online here.
