Quarterly BAS Review
Running a small business is a full-time job — and staying on top of your financial obligations can be overwhelming. That’s where our BAS Review Service comes in. Designed for small business owners who handle their own bookkeeping but want an expert set of eyes before lodging their BAS, this service acts as a safeguard — ensuring your records are accurate and your reporting is compliant.
What’s included in the BAS Review Package…
Review Your Tax Treatments – We’ll check that your GST has been applied consistently across similar types of income and expenses, and highlight any incorrect tax codes.
Reconcile Key Accounts – We’ll check if your accounts are reconciled, including your business bank and credit card accounts plus GST, PAYGW (Pay As You Go Withholding), and PAYGI (Pay As You Go Instalments) accounts.
Prepare and Lodge Your BAS – Once our checks are complete and everything is in order, we’ll prepare and lodge your quarterly Business Activity Statement with the ATO.
Post Required Journals – We will also process any associated BAS journals and adjustments directly into your accounting software.
This service is delivered using your cloud-based accounting system, such as Xero or QuickBooks Online.
What you’ll still be responsible for…
Our BAS Review service works best when paired with solid, up-to-date bookkeeping. While we handle the final checks and lodgement, you’ll continue to manage your day-to-day transaction coding and reconciliations.
Here’s what that looks like:
Ongoing Bookkeeping
You or your bookkeeper will take care of allocating and reconciling your transactions each quarter. To ensure we can review and lodge your BAS on time, everything should be finalised within four weeks of the quarter ending.
Correcting Bookkeeping Errors
If we spot any issues during our review, we’ll let you know right away. If you’d like our help to make corrections, we’re happy to assist — just note that this may involve an additional fee depending on the scope of work.
This service is a collaborative process — you keep the books in good shape, and we help ensure your BAS is accurate and compliant.
It’s a real partnership approach…
Think of this as a second set of professional eyes — not a replacement for quality bookkeeping. We rely on you to keep your accounts accurate and up to date, so we can do our part: reviewing key areas, catching issues early, and ensuring your BAS is submitted with confidence.
Together, we make a great team — with your hands-on knowledge of the business, and our tax expertise backing you up when it matters most.
