LodgeIt is the software that Wingr uses to send your business activity statements and instalment activity statements to the ATO.  They have recently introduced a new feature allowing you to pay the ATO via card as you sign the lodgement.  For those of you who want to eliminate an extra manual step for payment (and avoid forgetting about it by the due date 😜 ) this is a game changer.

Practically, this will work as follows:

• Click to sign your statement as normal
• Once signed, you will receive a confirmation screen offering payment by card similar to the following
• Click Pay by card now

• You will be redirected to the a secure payment page showing a full Payment Summary including
  • Payee – Australian Tax Office
  • Activity Statement period
  • The ATO payment amount due
  • Processing fees (~1.9% of the ATO amount due)
  • Total amount payable

• When ready, click Pay with card to complete the transactions
• Once payment is complete the screen will update to Payment Successful – your payment has been processed

• You should also receive an email receipt confirming the payment.

Please note, the payment is credited to your ATO account based on the payment reference number in the activity statement.  It can typically take around 3 business days for this to appear in your ATO account.

At this time, this feature is only available for activity statements, not income tax lodgements.
